Collection Claudette et Maurice Cormier Collection
En décembre 2019, la collection Claudette et Maurice Cormier fut léguée à l’œuvre de bienfaisance Nation Prospère Acadie qui en a fait prêt au Musée de Kent afin de la mettre en valeur. Composée de plus de 1200 tableaux et pièces d’art populaire acadien datant principalement du 20ème siècle, la Collection Cormier fut rassemblée au cours des 40 dernières années. Pour l’exposition de cet été, l'ancien couvent de Bouctouche, regroupe une sélection de 40 tableaux peints principalement par des artistes des comtés de Kent et de Westmorland au Nouveau-Brunswick.
In December 2019, the Claudette and Maurice Cormier collection was bequeathed to the charity Nation Prospère Acadie, who loaned it to the Kent Museum for display. Composed of more than 1200 paintings and pieces of Acadian folk art dating mainly from the 20th century, the Cormier Collection has been assembled over the past 40 years. For this summer's exhibition, the old Bouctouche Convent is bringing together a selection of 40 paintings, mainly by artists from Kent and Westmorland Counties in New Brunswick.
